EPE Material for Hotel Slippers
Jun 01, 2026
Among all disposable amenities in hotel guest rooms, slippers are items used frequently by guests, and the choice of material directly affects the wearing experience. As one of the mainstream sole materials for disposable hotel slippers, EPE (Expandable Polyethylene) boasts distinctive physical properties and cost advantages, making it a top choice for business hotels, hotel chains and homestays. EPE is a new eco-friendly material produced by physically foaming low-density polyethylene resin. It features an independent closed-cell structure, non-toxicity and odourlessness, along with excellent cushioning, heat insulation and moisture resistance. When used for disposable hotel slippers, it delivers outstanding advantages in many aspects. Firstly, it is lightweight. With the same thickness, an EPE sole weighs only 60% to 70% of a traditional sponge sole. It effectively cuts down the overall weight of slippers and reduces logistics costs for bulk shipments, perfectly suiting the cross-border transportation needs of overseas clients. Secondly, it offers great cushioning and anti-slip performance. EPE soles with customized anti-slip patterns enhance friction against common hotel floor surfaces such as tiles and wooden floors, lowering the risk of slips. Its elastic structure relieves pressure on feet and delivers soft foot support even for single-use scenarios. In addition, EPE is highly waterproof and moisture-proof. It will not absorb water or deform easily when exposed to moisture. It maintains stable performance in humid hotel bathroom areas and prevents potential safety hazards caused by slippery or collapsed soles.
